His first love was service. As a state police officer working in law‑enforcement intelligence, he carried the weight of other people’s worst days. The pressure was constant, the pace unrelenting. He needed a place where the noise could fall away.
In 2020, he found it.
What began as a small creative escape — something to quiet the mind after long shifts —slowly became a lifeline. His first resin experiment, “the Penny Project,” lit the spark. Not long after, he attempted his first table, nearly started a fire, and realized there was a whole world of science, chemistry, and precision behind epoxy work. Instead of backing off, he leaned in. He studied. He experimented. He failed forward. And he kept going.
Over the years, Troy developed a signature style: Wood chosen for its scars, bold resin rivers, and functional pieces that feel alive.
Charcuterie boards, tables, custom builds — each one carries the imprint of someone who knows what it means to need a place of refuge. People started noticing. Then they started buying. What began as stress relief became a craft. What began as a craft became a calling.
Today, Dup’s Works is where artistry meets resilience.
Every piece is shaped by hand, grounded in patience, and born from the same steady determination that carried him through years of service.
